Meet Abbey

Abbey is a multidisciplinary artist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founding her studio in 2016 as the culmination of her passions for painting, patterns and interior design - Abbey’s work spans different mediums and methods.

Abbey believes her responsibility as a creator is to share her reflections on beauty and the surrounding landscape with the world through art. To her, the act of creating itself is equally as significant as the final artwork. She views creating as a healing, reflective and uniquely human way to express gratitude. Abbey finds painting and making as tools to express her love for whatever it may be, her sorrows and her joys. To her, creating has become an essential way she moves through the world. It has carried her through loss and provided a way to meditate on beauty.  Her hope is for her work to resonate with the viewers in ways unique to them and their own story.

In addition to her degrees in Studio Art, Art History and Marketing from the University of Denver, Abbey studied Design Management at the Parsons School of Design and Painting at SACI Florence. She then went on to design womenswear textiles on the East Coast before launching her studio. 

In the past eight years, Abbey Holden Studio has earned multiple accolades, including recognition as Minneapolis’ Top Artist. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Artful Living, Midwest Home, Mpls St. Paul, Lake Minnetonka and Domino.

It has allowed for mediation on the human experience and provided an outlet to bring these interpretations to life.
